PINK DAHLIAS

sold

I'd been kicking this around for a while. For inspiration I even used the picture for my desktop wallpaper. Finally, a bright impressionistic decoration.

TOMATO SLICES WITH ONION

Total simplicity. I left nothing out.

PEPPERS TRIANGULAR BOTTLE

Striking colors. Everything seems to be made of glass except the onion.

PURPLE EASTER EGG

I didn't know where I was going with this one. I set up some props that were mostly purple. Once I started, I liked the purple colors so well I kept piling them on. The blue egg escaped--and some of the kisses in the papier mache basket. I never get bored with this one. I display it year around--less at Easter--because it is more than a seasonal decoration.

ROAD THROUGH THE CREEK

The broken tree and the one left of it are original to my composition. Other elements were also started in plein air, but I took this painting back to my studio and finished it out of whole cloth.
